BE 891, Biosensor Principles and Application
•Students will be able to articulate the principles of biosensors
•evaluate and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various biosensor designs for various applications
•conceptually design a biosensor system with specific performance capabilities
•integrate basic knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics, and electronics
Course Description: Nanotechnology-based biosensors, their components, desirable properties, and associated electronics. Applications related to healthcare, biodefense, food and water safety, agriculture, bio-production, and environment. Discuss the role of biosensors to enhance multidisciplinary interactions.
